Unite for Sight: Restoring Sight to the Blind

Last summer Darren Hill, his wife and three small children packed up and flew to Accra, Ghana, which would serve as their home for the following six weeks. Mr. Hill, a fourth-year student at the Penn State College of Medicine pursuing a career in ophthalmology, was looking for ways to contribute internationally, gain experience in his chosen field, and provide his young family with a defining and unforgettable experience. Having returned with all goals met and all members of his family intact, he will present their experience:objectives, strengths and weaknesses of the Unite for Sight program, spiritual and cultural lessons learned from the Ghanaian people, and the trials, blessings, and miracles that have come from his family’s adventure. Mr. Hill’s trip was made possible in part by a grant from Derry Church’s Caduceus Fund.
